SP17 Correction.

The National Debt is now over 88% of GDP - and is rising by £2.3b each WEEK; this costs £45b in interest alone, every year.

Moody's predict the Debt to be 97% - of GDP - by 2016.

Clearly, Tory job creation is extremely expensive!

(all figures - except Moody's - verifiable on/by OBR's website)

Few in the UK would share your relaxed attitude and logic - in respect of a National Debt which is almost 80% of GDP.

And, say the Tories, expected to continue to rise.

Give it be forgotten by the time the GE is here, maybe put a few posters up, Tories are good at covering up stats.

proof of what I say..it is not sustainable debt and the Tories are using it as an excuse to flog off anything Nu Labour forgot to sell.

hedda oh dear I wish you would stop trying to upset ITK over his Weetbix.

If you live in a market / capitalist economy debt isn't bad, indeed it's absolutely necessary.

Otherwise we could say it's the End of Civilisation as We Know It because people have mortgages.

what is the level of debt in respect of GDP- that is what's important?

In Australia we've just had a government deposed by Rupert Murdoch that also had large debt but it was the lowest in the world ( GDP ) and despite Forbes & every rating agency giving it the only AAA credit rating ever achieved the Bogan element (Aust Chavs) believed Rupert's rubbish and now we have the usual Tory solution to debt : sell the farm to pay the mortgage.

it's why all Tories should be put in charge of every corner shop throughout the land where they can cause no harm.
