Yes, of course, you're right.

2b people didn't know what they were watching!

They were just 'gawping'...

In The Know Channel 4 was the official broadcaster for the Sochi paralympic games -
paralympics.channel4.com/

The games DID NOT actually even register in the Top 30 !

(Opening ceremony March 7th - Closing ceremony March 16th)

www.barb.co.uk/viewing/weekly-top-30?

Couldn't even beat the 0.89 million registered by "Come Dine With Me" !!!!
In The Know I think you confuse "public interest" with people just gawping at a TV screen and watching whatever was on !

There was such "public interest" that not a single word was said on this board about them !

In fact the Para Association announced the viewing figures 100 days before the games even started !

How else could you explain ANY coverage of the paralympics ????

Put simply, public interest.

Over 2b (2,000,000,000) watched the Sochi games - about a quarter of the people on earth. 1.6b watched the Vancouver Paralympics in 2010.

Agree about the Mudslide disaster. Surprised it's getting little coverage.

Perhaps there is a blueprint for the news media ... one disaster per day / one major political story / one sport story / one "feelgood" story etc ?

How else could you explain ANY coverage of the paralympics ????
