The planet is fucked anyway ITK, modern cars don't even pollute.
Maybe a global war could be a good thing, let nature start again from scratch.
In The Know
Newsnight reported last night that the pollution (mainly from cars) has reached record levels hundreds of times during the last five years - it is only the added addition of Sahara sand that has made it noticeable this time.
Time for radical action?
The French - last month - banned half the cars from travelling each day (with odd number registrations being allowed to travel one day and even numbers the following day)
We protect our planet - or suffer the consequences.

Seriously, one of the reasons I love the air in the desert; it cleans my lungs, scouring them, and I think it filters pollution OUT of the air (cacti etc). Certainly it tastes like cold water when breathing and removes mucus and filth. After a couple of days in North Africa (some cities VERY polluted) I always feel great, what with sun, heat, swimming etc.
it's the dry heat. i went to Uluru once. Similar to Nth Africa. The hottest place I've ever been. Unbelievably hot and dry. Only rabbits and scorpions running about.
but quite exhilarating.
