JK2006 Very interesting Hedda - do please keep us well up to speed in the Misfortunes of Bulldog Drummond!
hedda a Bangkok based stringer and former News of The World hack looks like being booted out of Thailand finally.

One of my best Thai friends is a fairly high up Thai policeman- he told me ages ago authorities resent the way he has depicted Thailand in dozens of British News Corp tabloid articles which appear in the UK, USA & Australia.

So many Westerners cannot accept the Asian "loss of face" is a serious matter- possibly the worst thing you can do to any SE Asian person is embarrass them or their people.
With the loss of NoTW all stringer payments have now dwindled to a fraction of what they were. The heady days are over.

Knowing many Thai expats this bloke is either reviled or admired (but mostly the former) as an arrogant Brit who like so many, imports their own morality.

Virtually every article he writes accuses Thai officials, police and so on as being corrupt but he completely misunderstands the extraordinary complex Asian system of payments that operate : 'greasing the palm' is not seen in Asia as corruption : it's a centuries old way in which a power structure works.

He continues to boast of his "capture" of Gary Glitter and yet ignores the truth : GG wasn't guilty of anything except being hounded from country to country by a vicious and vindictive NoTW intent on revenge for their (and Max Clifford's) failed abuse court case in which GG was found innocent.

The Cambodian charges came after intense media pressure ( GG avoided the most serious charges by legally paying 2 families thousands $$).
## Cambodia is a place to avoid like the plague : the corruption there is now endemic and it's been fostered by hundreds of powerful Western NGOs aided by powerful Cambodian criminal gangs.

## whatever the truth of GG's Cambodian convictions, News Corp should share blame having driven the man from Cuba where he was living, to Asia.
