JK2006 on BBC2 early morning - Letter From An Unknown Woman with Joan Fontaine and Louis Jourdan. I'd never even heard of it before. Full of intriguing detail. Dated emotions, morality, styles, influences - yet intriguing. 1948. Black and white. Essentially about a one night stand; from the point of view of two genders. But very complex and beautifully directed, if mannered from a bygone era. With a marvellously subtle ending. Those days of horse drawn carriages, operas and duels, honour, disease, trains...
