As with innocent JK, it was just another unjust 'tabloid sentence' for 'guilty' Max.
As for self-declared 'open liar' Max 'guilty' of groping, just how safe are his accusers sensationlised accounts, further selectively distorted by an all bent-populist media?
As with victim JK and thousands more defendants before and since, facing bent-cops aided, witness exaggerations, fabrications, serious omissions, outright distortions, and bare-faced LIES.

It is so very odd that one has been rabbiting away on this website and discussed so many times JK's trial and jailing and talks of Karma and so on..
and to then to read Mathew Norman's piece in the Indie.
I think this- I've only spent 2 (separate) nights in jail- alcohol and driving related. What struck me was the boredom and I suspect a long sentence is far more mundane than horrific, not nearly as terrifying as more sensational films show.
I'm not sure Max Clifford will do his time well. I'm sure he would actually be reasonably popular with inmates- afterall he is a fascinating character.
But I think the loss of his position is what will do him in.
I still think 8 years is like a death sentence- given Stuart Hall was given a quarter of that.
And the judge sounds like a right bastard. I guarantee he was scared of media attacks if he gave a lighter sentence.

I wrote and congratulated this lady on her courage. The only interview with Max that dared hint at things. His (second) wife has been conspicuous by her absence.
I linked to this article then but to save you Archive search, here it is again… 8 years ago…
