Personally I am glad that the UK is moving out of recession even though oddly the recession is the main reason I have survived to date due to the lending rate at 0.5%. Thus renting out my London house and having net income(btw low price area so no at this stage I am not yet one of those richer areas yet. That is until the crossrail gets nearer completion if I can hang on that long. Bring back the recession. No do not mean it, really!!)

I am happy that more people are in work. The best figure that gives an overall indication of people getting into work as an overall picture is the economically in active number which has dropped from over 9m to around 8.7m. Numbers in work a good figure but it is better represented as a percentage which at this stage I can not find a historical graph. So, for example, if we suddenly had a huge influx in immigration(god forbid!) and the people in the age range of 16 to 64 the working age range went from the now over 40m to over 45m but the people in work increased from 30m to 31m. A million more people in work a fantastic number that the Tories would put on the news every day. But as a percentage a major drop as there are now 3m to 4m looking for work (I am allowing for people in education and who do not need to work). This example is fictious and is used to illustrate how good statistics can be used to misled regrettably the ever gullible public I am extremely sad to say.[/quote]
