robbiex I remember reading the book in school and like my fellow poster been excited about reading out "swear" words like bastard. Also we were shown the the video in school to accompany an english class.
It was an old top loading betamax and I remember it contains nudity (from the back) of underage boys. Probably quite dodgy to show this today in a school.

It later became one of my favourite films, and alongside Gregory's girl shows the most realistic depiction of life in a comprehensive school in Britain. You can't see the join between this and real life, something you can never say about hollywood films.

Cowcumber and Possett One of my favourite movies because I could identify with it. Got on my motorbike a while ago and rode up to Barnsley where it was filmed and had a look at some of the locations. A lot different today of course.
