Pru I think of a great scene in Woody Allen's movie Sleeper: it shows his character, who has just been 'defrosted' far into the future, being asked to comment on a series of pictures of people from the 1970s, and he inflates or deflates their actual status hilariously. The way people talk about Cowell always reminds me of that. The ideal tea boy for Magnet Records discussed as if he is Huw Wheldon. Heartbreakingly laughable. We'll know if this infantilized culture has ever recovered when people see this jumped up little recidivist twit for what he really is.
