Sadly Pattaya my girlfriend does not feel safe walking to Winter Gardens to see a gig, she is scared about the gang of hooligans who hang around there.
She would love to see the wrestling but said to me 'If only we can go by taxi and get a taxi back.' It's a shame that modern society feel intimidated in their own towns.
Is it a real or perceived threat, Andrew? Has something happened already? I would have thought she would feel safe with you there.
What sort of gang is it, and why are they interested in the winter gardens? In Aintree there is a group of young men that hang around outside Asda and I cant for the life of me see why. Most of us want to be as far away from Asda as possible, never mind standing outside whooping! 
In Margate there is fuck all for the youths to do, the gangs that hang around there are chavs and beggars, they shout out expletives to everyone. We also get groups that hang around Morrisons fuck knows why, these young men whooping Honey could be a way of wolf whistling at you.
I know a few who have been robbed at knife-point by the Slovak Gypos....but then I've lived in big eastern europen cities myself,if you can survive Bucharesti Gara De Nord even Cliftonville is manageable.

Sadly upper class people like ITK have no idea how the working classes have to live...and it shows just how out of touch with reality they really are.
