Just checked Gallup - Obama's approval rating is NOT at an all time low; its 42% - but has been 40%
To say that the media is the cause of his low rating is wrong - as so much information is now in the public domain, provided by administrations who have little choice but to be transparent.
Obama will rarely dodge questions and is admired - by the US media for his candour and good humour. And admitting his mistakes.
My last post, about three Americas, gave the reasons for his inevitable low ratings. The Baltimore/Detroit tranche could well be compared to Tyne and Wear in the UK.
After the demise of the ship building, coal and steel industries - 4/5 generations of families there have never worked and never will.
Multiply their disapproval of PM/government by a very large factor for Baltimore/Detroit etc. - and you'll see why residents of these areas, who survive exclusively on welfare, are disenfranchised.
Detroit lost Chrysler, General Motors and Ford - and the music industry. Its now a virtual no go area....

..... then why is his approval rating at an all-time low ?

ITK asked why Obama's public rating is so low; the answer is obvious.
America is really 3 countries:-
1. East Coast/NY/NYC/Washington/Maryland - with California and Florida
2. Mid West/farm belt/Wyoming/Idaho/Denver
3. Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Baltimore etc
1 is doing fine - great in parts. 2 is ticking over, just about.
3 is THE problem. Some cities are bankrupt - like Detroit - where long serving nurses and police will never get their pensions.
Guess where the low ratings come from?

Don't hold back, Pat .... SHOUT IT OUT !!!!
Miliband's poll ratings are worse than Callaghan, Kinnock, Major, Hague, Howard and Brown before they ALL marched their parties to defeat
