In The Know (as always)	You are quite right, hedda (but then you always are when you follow MY lead). The system doesn't allow politicians to think ahead - all they are interested in, is getting re-elected in five years time. There are numerous areas where this is obvious .... but politicians don't want to suggest forking out now for something we may only see the benefit of in many years to come. .... such as climate change.
hedda	sometimes my thinking aligns with that distant cousin ITK (from the wrong side of the tracks- trade)- generational unemployed is a real problem and will get worse. However this is not of their own making but a result of 40 years of disastrous government policy which no politician will tackle, instead they make quite mindless pronunciations like this. Every young person I know who has led a wayward life and eventually found a job never wants to go back. People love working (but only if they are appreciated and paid correctly) . Even the mass of false allegations and compo seeking is a symptom of this I have not seen one politician in the UK (or Oz) who thinks in terms of decades-all they think about is the next election. but correct me if I am wrong.
