They have a right to be heard but their successful nixing of Evans' career is frightening and dangerous and even worse...discriminatory and shows them to be petty , vindictive & selective power mad ratbags
Having reflected (I sat on the fence for some time about this) - I believe that banning him is the right thing to do. Normally I would say when someone has "paid" for their crime they should be able to get on with their lives. In this case however there are extenuating circumstances. Football appeals to a (mainly) young male audience - and not very intelligent at that !!!! - so to show someone can merely pick up his highly paid career after such a crime is wrong. Harsh maybe - but better that one person suffers, than give everyone the idea they can get "away" with what they want (merely by launching a Facebook campaign). He let down the fans and his club. Footballers - at that level - ARE role models and must accept the restrictions if they want to reap the benefits. I remember local footballer Peter Swan being banned FOR LIFE for accepting bribes. Put that in context.
Especially when it comes to wasting tax payers money.
while their wives flee to the sanctity of shopping sprees after endless lectures on the joys of the free market.
