Martin I wish I could say she gave them that much respect actually, she opens the wrapper and squashes them flat on to toast cold, like pate. I`m a bit delicate on breakfast eating, I don`t like anything too sweet either, croissants are a no go. I have however, very often eaten the remains of a take away curry for brekkie, which horrifies many people, and I was delighted to read recently that this is a habit I share with Gordon Ramsey.
Curry in the morning is an interesting thing, a vindaloo can have killer heat the night before, but in the morning, there are less acids in your mouth, and the spices react less, making it seem more mild.
THE ultimate curry breakfast, is scrambled egg masala, this can be done in many simple ways. I use one shallot, one chilli, the spice mix of your choice (I use Bolsts), fry all together and mix in to the normal scrambled eggs, served on hot thick buttered toast.
I used to swear by mushrooms on toast for breakfast, but found my energy levels were low by mid morning.
JK2006 Delicious flavour; lovely meaty texture; packed with Omega 3; easy to cook (I grill mine with a knob of butter, squeeze of lemon and coriander leaf) and incredibly cheap.
