I didn't take part, Pat !

Its an annual charity event ... all kinds of silly rtafts (most sink in the freezing water !) race from Matlock to Cromford (about 2 miles).

Even the police take part (and don't seem to mind that the local kids pelt their raft with flour bombs !)
honey!oh sugar sugar. My induction hob conked out half way through cooking the dinner.
I called my husband to switch it off and back on (it re-sets it) and five minutes later he confirmed it was broke, so I had one ring for everything, and consequently things were overdone or soggy. (I would have been fine with one ring if I had known beforehand)
Anyway, I just laughed it off and encouraged lashings of gravy and cranberry, and then stayed up all night poring through lists of hobs to choose a new one.
Next morning the electricity had to be turned off to put a lamp in and GUESS WHAT FLAMING HAPPENED?
Yep.
The hob came back on because the stupid great wassock hadn't bothered to switch it off at all!
I will be getting a new one anyway. For spite.
