JK2006 Eric; Paul's opinion has changed since his personal experiences. Yes he still thinks - as I do - that Savile had many faults; but, for example, it's becoming clear that "young girls" (which we all heard about) were assumed to be above the legal age of consent - 16. It has dawned on many people that we may be looking at exaggeration, not invention.
Eric Toussaint But Gambo still believes Savile is guilty; let's not forget he worked from the office next to Savile's, and saw him bringing teenage girls from difficult, deprived and institutionalised backgrounds into the BBC building. He also observed how Savile played the press like a Stradivarius whenever they threatened to run stories about his 'darker' side, by telling them how donations to the various charities he was involved with would dry up. Overall, the picture Gambo paints of Savile is one of a very manipulative person with a predeliction for underprivileged, underage girls - so don't get the wrong end of the stick about where he's coming from!
JK2006 Gambo was surprised that I had been correct when I predicted that the Mail, the nastiest but also the best paper in Britain, would be the most accurate and the most supportive. I've said many times that the Mail and Honest Police would be the weapons that eventually defeat this madness.

JK2006 I believe my article on the broken justice system was quoted by Paul; his session in front of the House of Commons committee went very well indeed. He was on the phone for an hour last night, going through his evidence minute by minute.
