JK2006 Which sadly it is; there are good moments and the class of the actors remains strong but the script is lousy and most of the characters have become caricatures. "Bill does that well so let's have more of it… Judy always works… Maggie is marvellous, give her pathos…" And the real disaster - "Dev was so charming in Slumdog; base the entire movie around him". But he's losing his charm as he ages, his squint is most distracting and he's told to over act so badly that he has become intensely annoying. Richard Gere is surprisingly good. Otherwise it's pleasant, colourful, gently amusing but nowhere near as clever and original as the first. Sequels CAN work. This really doesn't.
