Hedda	the problem is the first past the post UK system which means the majority of Brits have been governed by someone they don't want for decades Compulsorary & Preferential voting is so superior as people carefully consider where they vote goes down the line and eventually a government emerges which has the backing of the majority and cannot get away with much. # plus a fully elected Upper House in which the voters rarely give the government of the day a majority & play it safe. In addition 5 years is way too long and allows any (minority) government to so entrench laws they cannot be changed as New ( Ghastly) Labour have. 3 years so much better..18 months to get stuck in with the hard work and then the other 18 are spent worrying about being re-elected as everything is still fresh in the voter's minds. result- you may get a wacko like Tony Mad Monk Abbott but he still to the left of New ( Hideous) Labour and not unlike Gorgeous George. #Comrade Hedda is available for lunch or dinner for further advice.
