Indeed. Which will prove my point.

It disgusts me.
Well, your opinion on millions of your 'moronic' countrymen won't impress many of us either...

That is my perception of a part of society and one of many reasons why I shall never vote again. My vote would make no difference at all. Democratic government is voted in by superficial morons who judge on surface simplicity and media images. It disgusts me.

If that is your perception of our society - is it, then, the reason why you don't vote?
Disaffection - rather than the failings of the democratic system.

I would side with dixie on this. A decision not to vote displays clear apathy to one's country - and a disinterest in its affairs. Paradoxically, those who don't bother to vote often have a lot more to say about politicians and political parties.
One wonders - apart from repeating 'democracy doesn't work' - do you refuse to make your views known via the ballot box, full stop. For example, do vote in local elections to ensure that services are kept to a high standard, by the right people.
Or do you let others do that also, as well as choosing the government of your country? Obviously, I don't mind whether you vote or not; its just that the majority do - at least, from time to time.
