Martin I find the project fun, and he is firmly tongue in cheek about it I believe.
Not a bad marketplace really, it`s just the sort of thing the kids will buy their middle-aged punk Dads for Christmas.
Oh dear... That looks like a hint!
They are a funny breed Xmas albums, get it right and you have a job for life, but I think in Mr Idols case, this is a well timed release, and not a bad career move at all.
He was allways a born star and still sells his own image as well as he did back in 1977.
Ms Phantasy If you can't see that he's made the X'mas CD just for a laugh and to take the piss, then unlike Mr Idol, you obviously take yourself way way too seriously and it's Idol who's had a laugh on you!

In terms of it being a commercial venture, I doubt that he's short of a quid even after having spent oodles on drugs over the years. I doubt he really expects to sell more than a few thousand of them and at say $5 profit each.. $15,000 profit is bearly enough for a 1st class ticket to Europe.

I'm sure he has enough in the kitty to sustain him and he made it for a bit of 'light hearted' fun.. which is actually what he says on myspace.

He was probably sitting around one night after a few beers and thought to himself "what would the critics say if Billy Idol made a Christmas CD" ? and probably still has a smirk on his face now.

Dunno what you mean about "Eve of destruction", it's a great track.. better than just about everything you hear these days.

You should lighten up a little and not take things so seriously!

Ms Phantasy
Grandpa Harley We all whore from time to time... I did for Danone Biscuits division... and in various software houses. You swing you handbag, tips your hips at the sailors, and mostly think of the money.
zooloo I think we should have a whip-round for Mr Idol, he's obviously short of a few bob if he has to stoop to this

DON'T click on Eve of Destruction - it's not worth it
