Wow at last some real collectors of Cd's and vinyl. I got some classics of Lennon and David Crosby.

This is what worried me.
We don`t intend to stay here too much longer and I don`t really want to go into the the drilling through the walls thing that much.
My Dad was a carpenter, but I did not inherit the skills, just the ailments!

My vinyl is on industrial steel shelving that I salvaged many moons ago.
Weight is a problem - vinyl and CDs and books!
Trying to find a bookcase that's actually for books and not light-weight display. Being shown some flimsy thing that because it says "bookcase" on the card must mean it's a bookcase, innit? I think I'll bring an old Ford with a Rolls-Royce card and sell it to the helpful shop-assistant.
Oooppps, rant mode
Custom build is the only way I think.

Actually , cd and vinyl storage is now becoming a major problem here.
Where the heck do I store my collection which is over 6000, now? I am a bit peeved that the house is starting to look like a library, only largely with the collection on the floor.
If it didn`t rain everyday this would not worry me as I would be in the garden and not decorating etc.
There was quite a nice unit in the paper on Saturday, but it comes in the dreaded "flat-pack" format.
I bought one before, the correct size, installed all my vinyl and then the shelves collapsed.Disaster.
I think I need a reality TV d.i.y bloke around.

..I bought a huge metal case to hold my cd collection, and failed to read the small print, that although it stores the cd`s, it doesnt house the cases!
Doh!
