In The Know It's all spin, smike-screens, and mirrors! I'm waiting for today's "announcement" (which will never actually see the light of day !

You forgot to mention ID cards - where the government will have detailed dossiers on the law-abiding and yet still not have the faintest idea of how many people are here illegally!
The Cat Setting a target is not the way to solve a problem. The NHS is staffed by a limited number of overworked doctors who already do extra shifts. Now the government has waved it's imaginary wand and decreed that surgeons will also work overnight to reduce patient waiting lists.

Creating more laws does not deter those who operate outside of the law. The threat of some possible distant punishment has no effect on criminals who have no intention of getting caught.

The government needs to listen to doctors, nurses, ex-cons and retired criminals, etc. To people with genuine knowledge and experience.
