JK2006 The Head of the Prison Officer's Association talks great sense; big pay rises for new recruits is NOT the way to solve the crisis - it is a typical instant superficial solution by Tweetie Pie Truss and the May woman.

Free those illegally locked up inmates (around 5000 on IPP). Stop sending innocent people to jail (many eventually freed on appeal - thousands each year). Stop prosecuting people for historical allegations with no evidence. Listen to senior officers and prison governors - they work on the front line; they know what is wrong.

Read Hitchens in today's Mail. Dead officers is the least we can expect. Massive breakouts and anarchy is far more likely.
