The Blocked Dwarf Actually I'm smoking half Burley/half Turkish rollups atm, but , yes, to be serious, my experience mirrors your own in that it was only AR almost dying from Sepsis and the NHS's (Gawd Bless them, envy of the world)total inability to diagnose nor supply working medication pumps that made me aware of it. But I find that's the way with a lot of things, not just illnesses. Things only move onto your horizon when you or someone you know is directly affected. Sepsis is just one more thing to thank God for every morning that I, and those I care for, don't have. As it used to say in the book of Common Prayer: "who hast safely brought us to the beginning of this day....grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger"

The Blocked Dwarf It kills more people each month than cancer, strokes and heart disease added together.

Bollocks! I call 'Shenanigans'!! Everyone knows it is smoking that kills everyone everywhere. FACT!
JK2006 Fascinating item on BBC Brekkie; I never realised what it was (body's immune system working too well). I only became aware of this after Anna Raccoon contracted it and told me all about it. It kills more people each month than cancer, strokes and heart disease added together.
