It seems that she uses platitudes when talking to ordinary people too and isn't too hot in the politeness stakes. Here's an account by an Australian woman, who has been living in the UK for 18 years and voted for Theresa May and for Remain, about her meeting with her.

"She emphasised, not just strongly but crossly, that "the British people have voted for Brexit and the government is committed to making it happen" and started pointing at my face across the narrow desk. I asked her to please not point at my face as I considered it rude. "People point at me all the time", she replied. "Indeed," I responded, "it's rude, so please refrain". …
She said "We're going to get the best deal". I said "That's a hope, not an action"." |

JK, it seems you're not the only one to have noticed her platitudes!
Nick Clegg: "As I listened to the PM’s platitudes on national radio yesterday — “best possible deal”, “strengthen my hand” etc — ..."
Nick Clegg: Theresa May is naive to think a clear Tory win is the answer to Brexit
“Who knows what Theresa May has secured here apart from vague platitudes?” leader of the Liberal Democrats, Tim Farron, said in a statement.
Following U.S. visit, U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May hails new ‘special relationship’
And a petition on the parliament site:
"Petition: Should Theresa May's platitudes and spin be evaluated?
She doesn't appear to have actually achieved anything, Abu Qatada's expulsion was delayed by her ego, bragging that he is going, before his appeal date had passed........
She sounds like Good Luck Jonathan, and people swallow it!
This petition has been rejected..." |

An Idiot At Home.
stupid woman utterly devoid of principal as she is a Remainder (or Remoaner for the total fuckwits who claim no-one must dare criticise Brexit).
History will not treat her well but what's new? |

More platitudes and cliches from the pursed lips of our fine Prime Minister whose exams in truisms have been passed with flying colours. Rather than state she would enter negotiations half heartedly and with little enthusiasm, she surprises us all with her fierce determination. I wish to God she'd have a fierce determination to stop talking crap. |
