...And then it was on to the Rhumba Bar in Soho, where I shared cocktails and many, many, saucy stories about the great and famous with another very old and dear friend, Quentin 'Bobo' McGillery. I've known Bobo since 1963, when we both shared a taxi with a VERY drunk Alma Cogan. If you knew what we chatted about today your ears would fall off! Then I just arrived in time to meet yet another old friend, Miles Rudge (formerly of Rudge Associates and famous, among other things, for releasing his interviews with Freddie and the Dreamers, The Dreamers Tapes) for a truly sensational gossip over ice-cold Pouilly Fume at the American Bar in the Austrian Hotel just off Covent Garden. I would love to share with you just some of the astounding stories we exchanged, but I can't.
JK2006 Nothing nicer than a summer day of glowing sunshine with lovely home produced food in Duke of York's Square at market day, a glass of Bellini and a gigantic nostalgia feast for us both (we've known each other for 52 years) about Fleet Street days and people gone by.
