hedda whatever happens..the poor of Haiti lose..always.

Except..except.. if a smart $later & Gordon type lawyer gets up there and signs up 10,000s of hapless Haitians who were "abused" by Aid workers and don't just sue Oxfam ect but sue the British Government who participate in the aid programs.

Go for it !!!

## Precedent set by the BBC /Savile fiasco.
### Nigerian scamsters are booking trips to Haiti as we speak.
md 65,000 people died in England, Wales and Scotland during the second cholera epidemic of 1848. The solution - clean water and proper sewerage - had been discovered a few years earlier. However, it wasn't until 1858 that this discovery was officially accepted and something could be done to control the disease. Many remained stuck in their comfortable belief systems, arguing that there was no proof, insisting that the dominant miasma theory had to be true (even though this theory had obviously not been proven, either). MPs refused to debate the issue "simply because the idea of consuming water polluted with human waste was far too disgusting and embarrassing a topic for them to consider".

It's staggering to think that a similiar scenario is now being played out in Haiti for exactly the same reasons. Essentially the authorities are allowing passion and emotion to dominate and rule over rational thought.

hedda never fear..the media will be in the firing line eventually.

The Savile / BBC fiasco was just the opening act.
JK2006 It is extraordinary how these witch hunts gather speed - simply due to the power of media and nobody having the time or inclination to think in depth anymore.
honey!oh sugar sugar. I assume that anybody with decency who might genuinely be entitled to claim, wouldn't dream of taking money from OXFAM!!!

I thought the vast sums of money I squander in their shops was used to buy goats and stuff.
