wjlmarsh wrote:
For a really mixed up crazy world the West is in general atthis point in time slightly in a number of areas than others. I have found many Western Countries do not provide very many clean available public toilets and thus can have some problems. And some non western countries have better provision. That is really the issue on that pne not so much customa thing. There were in the West a few extremely brave individauls that stood up against the masses for the welfare of the others. Be it slavary or shatever. And now we have massive homelessness, lack of jobs or support. So the arguments put forward appear very arrogant and bias. But looking at an article of the UN syting there is something like 65 million displaced persons. That of course does not include perple not displaced but who would move to a place like the UK if the doors were opened. So I put the issue of the scale of numbers that would suddenly turn up if the UK adopted an open door policy. That would (as seen already with EU policy) be too much for even the most well run cpuntry. That is what I see as the real issue on the "open door" policy. As to the issue of "love thy neighbour" "What if it was me without a home and a place of safety displaced" issue. Firstly the issue is not addressed by countries because the general citizen just does not care about anyone but themselves. It is like the "Me" thing (MeToo) Well it is "MeFirst" and yes in this thing it is correct in that each day the one person one is constantly with is oneself. MeFirst must not at the same time exclude caring about others. So the guy on the Youtube seems to have a very narrow outlook. So an open door policy would create an enormous problem. But a policy of every individual in the world matters would enable each country along with the UN and other agencies to maintain already excellent strategies, adjust those strategies that need improving and to create new strategies to fill the gaps and replace failed and failing ones. Explore maybe "half way" city states, island states, land area states (maybe some annexed from rogue countries creating the displacement problem) with a international UN citizenship fully accepted. Pressure on the countries failing their citizens on quality of life. No more just camps etc but rather with fully thriving communities with housing, vegetable growing, fruit etc. Education and real busyness, happiness, hope and opportunity. Why not? There are answers and yes things I think of may well of been tried and failed. Yet better to learn from failures and explore workable solutions than treat displaced people so badly. So maybe the guy could make a video of all the positive things in place now that could be increased to help people in need. How people from two different cultures can resolve differences for the betterment of both. Can learn the good things form both sides. And find ways to eradicate the bad things on both sides.
