It is not that I dont have sympathy for people caught up in disasters and their families, but these "anniversaries" seem like revelling in the excitement and it all seems a bit yucky.

It's put me off ever living in a high rise building (mind you I live on the third floor now but it's a very old solid building with endless concrete and steel stairwells for easy escape..built in the 1930s when they could luxuriate in such things).
I watch that "Selling New York" show and ogle at the multi-million $$ apartments but when they are on the 20/30th floor I get the creeps.
Perhaps I could live in a penthouse if I had a helicopter on the top?
Can't they develop a sort of chute that unravels and people could slide down?
Parachutes if you are above the 10th floor?
## this is what happens when politicians carry on about "cutting red tape"..it usually means relaxing safety.

Who do we blame for the fire? The people who were illegally sub-letting increased the death toll.
