the routine is familar to Jessica. Without her Clifford might not be in prison. She was the first victim to come forward, approaching me just after the Jimmy Savile scandal broke". He then proceeds to interview her with her appearance and voice disguised. Max Clifford: the rise and fall of the UK's king of spin "The most powerful witness was the woman who gave evidence from behind a screen, the first complainant who had come forward. ... Most haunting of all was an anonymous letter the complainant had written to Clifford three years ago ... "Part of the reason I'm writing to you is that my counsellor has recommended it as part of my therapy. I'm undecided how much it will help or where we go from here."... When the police searched Clifford's house after the woman made a complaint, the letter was found in his bedside drawer. Unsurprisingly, the prosecution suggested that this was significant. Clifford told the jury he had shown the letter to both Louise and his wife (who, it emerged in court, had secretly made a photocopy of it). If he'd had anything to hide, he said, he would have destroyed the letter. He kept it because he thought it might be a precursor to blackmail. He had a point. Even the victim's therapist had told her the letter's conclusion might read like a threat. But she never did blackmail him. Instead, a couple of years later, she went to the police. Her parents had recently died and this was a factor in her coming forward – she had been ashamed of what had happened, and did not want to hurt them. Clifford said he thought it was a "tragic" letter, but dismissed it as having been written by somebody who was disturbed." Can't help but wonder if he was jailed for false allegations. It seems a high price to pay, especially as he died in jail. I feel sorry for his daughter.
I can't help thinking Clifford was just an old-fashioned leech like millions of British men (and women) are very Saturday night when on the booze.
But his real crime was he was a
HYPOCRITE
.. even The
Bible
warns of this and we know
KARMA
being a
BITCH
works quietly in the background.
Lord help any ex-copper who may have indulged in hypocrisy.

I am sure somebody has sent him the links to all three.
He seems the sort who sees what he wants to see though.

I've just watched it. Interesting… not sure if I can make out where you stand on this!
I'm still sceptical as to whether he actually committed any crimes, especially with "the man with horrible eyes" in the mix.
I think his charges sounded as daft as most false convictions.
More revenge than karma though.
