JK2006 I never trust the political wings of obsessives - the IRA. Hamas. Zion.
hedda Trying to pin down the real "meaning" of Zionism especially among Jews is a complete nightmare.

It started and remains a political movement the same as the Conservative movement. Conservatism means all different things to different people much as Labour does.

But in fact, the largest group of Zionists are non-Jewish..the US Christian Evangelicals who are the most fanatical Zionists on the planet.

There are millions of them and the weirdest aspect is that the Israelis accommodate them when they believe the End Times are coming which means the total destruction of Israel (along with the rest of the world).

# The fact the Evangelics pour multi $Millions into Israel is entirely coincidental.
JK2006 I have to say most British Jews I know are NOT Zionists and indeed despise them. Likewise most Muslims I know are fine with Jews (and vice versa). But, of course, that's not a good media story and, of course, nobody thinks this has anything to do with anti semitism. It's all about anti-Corbynism.

Yes the more the media continues clueless Corbyn bashing the more certain I am that I (and many others) will be voting Labour at the next election if he is still Leader.

If the Blairites and Britains vast right-wing media manage to remove Corbyn...just as Rupert Murdoch has manipulated political events in Australia this week to remove a middle-of-the-road PM for a right-wing Evangelical replacement of his choice...then the claimed antisemitism in Labour would vanish overnight.

However- the local Jewish community will wear this like a cross of thorns for decades to come ( justified or not) as millions of disaffected Labour voters will blame their silence and seemingly co-operation in this dirty politically motivated campaign.

## Anonymous: apart from the fact millions of Arabs and Palestinians are also Christian. I have never found in the numerous Arab countries I have traveled to any animosity towards the local Jewish community. In the fact, the differences between them are almost non-existent.

They are, after all, both originally desert tribes. Probably why the Saudis get on so well with the Israelis.

#### Economic note for ITK our Board Conservative: Under Tony Blair the Labour Party was in serious debt. Now under Jeremy Corbyn the Labour Party has a £56M war chest. Talk about good management!

The subject matter was "Zionist". Thus she is inferring ALL jews are Zionists. It is the same logic inferring all Germans are Nazis.
That doesn't seem to me to be a reasonable parallel to make. According to this, most British Jews are Zionists, whereas this says Nazi party membership in Germany peaked at just 10%.

Jeremy Corbyn said "They [i.e. the Zionists he was referring to] clearly have two problems. One is they don't want to study history, and secondly, having lived in this country for a very long time, probably all their lives, they don't understand English irony either.""

If he was referring principally to non-Jewish Zionists, or didn't have Jewish Zionists in mind, why say they've lived in the UK for a very long time, probably all their lives? Why imply they're borderline aliens? Surely this is how Jews were viewed for hundreds of years.

Having said that, I'm not Jewish, so whether I think he was being anti-Semitic is irrelevant. But I don't understand why the concerns of Luciana Berger, Margaret Hodge, Stephen Pollard, Jonathan Sacerdoti, etc. should be dismissed, even if the right-wing press is an eager and hypocritical conduit. Are we supposed to think that whenever a Jew complains about anti-Semitism, they're most likely crying wolf? Or is it just that when they complain about Jeremy Corbyn, they're crying wolf?
