wyot It is a complicated world...My simple response is we need policy to be driven by humanity and that is unlikely to happen when "politics" of whatever hue is the driver...
JK2006 Clearly the man needs sympathy, understanding, care and tenderness. Clearly society needs protecting from him until he is safe and happy. Clearly it is the duty of those in charge to try to cope with all this instead of being bound by political correctness or media adoration for a good story.
Jo It sounds to me as if he's in the right place. Putting him in a women's prison would surely be silliness, not kindness or decency.

I love the lines about "the defendant's approach to transitioning has been less than committed" and the description of the "woman" as "allegedly a transgender female" - I thought the current thinking was it was only necessary to self-identify.

But how can she be put into a male prison if she has identified as female? Who decides if someone is "feminine" enough?
