I agree.
The world is becoming a very weird place.
I know that's something old people say but it's true (not that I'm "old"..87 and look 40 )
What a horrible attack that was..could have killed him.
Visiting Oz so many times one reason I bought a place here is that Sydney, compared to then New York and London had the most vibrant, exciting non-stop nightlife going.
But it's all gone ! It's incredibly dull nightclub wise which is fine by me after decades of clubbing.
Killed off by TWO attacks just like that at the Cavern Club where creeps in Kings cross sent 2 young innocent young men crashing to the footpath and both died after hitting their heads on the pavement.
So laws were drastically changed and 24 hour bars and nightclubs suddenly had their hours curtailed and began to shut down.
The famous (infamous ?) Oxford Street with 12 gay pubs and 20 gay nightclubs with a mixture of young straight & gay clientele gradually shut down.
There are many factors here at play of course and one is poverty and housing costs. New York and London to me are an anathema now because of housing costs.
It's fine for us oldies who love the cities but.. and a very Big But - young talented people can no longer flock to the big cities. Creativity is killed.
It's the same worldwide.
I think Bangkok and Thailand may be the only 'party' towns left.
# Nursie says I must have my cocoa now and go to bed or she'll get that nice white jacket with the straps.

The stabbings in Hammersmith are again close to my area and I know Fulham very well; yes, knife crime in London is out of control (and the answer is NOT shipping in one of the people who headed up Surrey Police when Breck Bednar died from a knife attack in 2014) but the problem is far larger than that; society in Britain is infected with this global horror; individualism; not caring about others; clamp down on immigration; ignore deaths in order to shut borders be they from Mexico or Africa or Syria... we have become incredibly selfish and nasty.

because, to me, it sums up society and humanity today. In Liverpool's Cavern Club we see how the loonies are taking over - typical troll and vandal behaviour from poor AJ Pritchard and the 39 knife people arrested in Hammersmith today; this is the mind set of a hefty chunk of the world. My QC used the word VINDICTIVE about police behaviour before and during my trial in 2018. It is all part of the declining world today. Brains are going.
