And to put that statement into historical context....2 channels.....not the 200 etc we have now...getting many millions of viewers....bad teeth,funny facial hair.....who nose what else?.....

....It was a time when people got to the top on talent alone,not agents,spin,looks and glossy production.....

....at 22 having written a few top hits,while having performed one of the classic hits of a golden decade,where records competed with the best in the world...just to get in the top 30,let alone weeks at no 1!

I still think you looked your best at the end of the decade with the goatee...not sure about 'Old John Barleycorn,nicotine and the temptations of Eve'
