His inquiry - called for by Tony Blair - wound up in 2010, lasted 12 years and cost £200 million.
David Cameron later apologised for the actions of the Parachute Regiment - who fired at unarmed marchers, on a peaceful parade.
Now, nearly 50 years later, one ex-soldier will be brought to justice.
