Silent Minority, I think you raise one the biggest problems, if not the biggest, confronting society. How can urges (or destructive emotions) that are totally uncivilised be taught in civilised ways? They can't even be taken with the spoonful of sugar that makes downing unpalatable medicine more bearable.

Our society,or lack of it is changing, threads that held us together are being attacked from all sides.... evolution, not revolution is the answer....and being selective about which terror attacks you complain about also does not help....

....but it won't change...

I think you are right, it won't change, but this does not mean that our own individual perceptions can't change.

Silent Minority Urges....we all have urges but it's how we learn to control those in a civilised way that defines us most.

Good morning Doctor King, yes it is amazing just how long you have managed to provide a first class web experience, even in the darkest of times...
JK2006 In an unusually interesting debate on the awful Victoria LIVE - contributors mention the rudeness of so much online trolling, insulting and bullying. I've noticed in the Michael Jackson discussion, for example - often just one word insults from trolls simply incapable of any longer typing. It's also interesting noting the amount of racism that trolls share. I've mentioned before how anti-semitism used to be in so many troll posts (despite the fact I'm not Jewish) in the good old days when I used to get trolled (not famous enough anymore). These days anti-Islam has taken over (except, if you believe the rubbish, in anti-Labour ones). For years, police have kept note of persistent URL's and IP's - especially those who use the Dark Web or Proxies (stupidly no realising the progress in tracing loonies). This site has been going since the mid 1990's - one of the first, along with The Velvet Rope - and quite a few of those early trolls have subsequently "disappeared". It is true that these are all the same types of people - in extremis they become mad like the Christchurch and Norway killers.
