Ohio now has armed teachers, as well - albeit a designated one per school.
Most people say that gun carrying/protection is not a teacher's job.
And that being an educator, social worker, drug catcher and disciplinarian - is enough.

Similiar thoughts came to my mind while watching the old 1959 movie 'Jet Storm' a few days ago. Different weapon but the point is that it wasn't the bomb that was spiralling out of control. One of the passengers said at one stage: "If I don't do something soon, I'll explode". Fortunately, the remote control for the bomb wasn't near her at the time. |

My teachers used to terrify us into submission armed with nothing more than a bit of chalk. |

Florida has just passed legislation for teachers to carry guns at work - in an effort to curtail mass shootings, and indiscriminate murder.
Other states are expected to follow suit, in the short term. Last year, 17 pupils were killed at a Florida school. All the teachers could do, was hide.
