Al I have to admit that this is the first time I've heard him mentioned. One TV reporter said that "effectively", as John Reid ruled himself out, there would be no challenge to Gordon Brown. I'll have to go google John MacDonald now.
In The Know I think you may find that the situation changes, beginning shortly after 12 noon today (when a party starts in Sedgefield and gradually encompasses the world !).

The media have, on the whole, been a little frightened by the government (just look at how the BBC were "attacked" and threatened over the Kelly reports) - but once he's gone I think you will see alot of people coming forward with some very interesting views !
JK2006 Why is his leadership bid getting no media attention at all?
