The 51-year-old, from Gloucester, told Detective Constable Mark Lewis his stepfather, the late Major Ray Beech, started beating him soon after he and his mother, the Rev Charmian Beech, moved into the officer's accommodation on an Army base.

Very interesting story in Daily Mail, of Beech:
'He was indebted and living grossly beyond his means, intending to make money on the international speaking circuit, speaking about his 'abuse''
The prosecution are trying to say that wanting to be a 'celebrity victim' is a motive for lying about abuse. I wonder if defence lawyers will use this line to defend those accused of abuse in the future.
Also the allegations about lying about being abused by Savile are interesting. If you read the enquiry report into Savile at Stoke Mandeville it says that virtually all the allegations must be believed as it is very rare for anyone to lie about abuse. But there was no documentation to prove that the accusers had even been admitted to the hospital. All they needed was a letter from a doctor saying they had reported feeling traumatised due to historic sex abuse. If Beech is found guilty, where does this leave the stories about Savile carrying out abuse on an 'industrial scale' to use the horrible media phrase?
Believe, me being abused is truly horrible but then so is living in a world where due process and the rule of law have been swept aside by hysteria. It's impossible to believe we are living through such times. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7035899...gures-interview.html
