Barney An excellent tournament in 9 French cities, with 24 teams; the 8th such event.

With regard to the Laws of the Game concerning penalties (and other aspects), these were changed on 1st June - just gone.

One specific change was to severely punish goalkeeper encroachment at penalties. Scotland would have known about the change.

robbiex Thoroughly enjoying the women's world cup, although many games are spoilt by VAR. The match between Scotland and Argentina was particularly good with Scotland 3-0 up with 20 minutes to go, and then ending up drawing 3-3, with a penalty having to be re-taken after the Scottish goalkeeper was said to have moved off the line, which is technically against the rules, but is hardly ever enforced. My prediction is that USA will win, after beating Thailand 13-0 in the first round and been the current holders.
