After failing in the NSW courts a lawyer took a case to the High Court and won, overturning a 100 year old precedent that the police could not be sued for malicious prosecution..and winning his client a woman falsely convicted of attempted murder a $6M settlement from NSW cops.

This comes via a link from one of Rupert Murdoch's prized columnists Andrew Bolt.
