wyot I am a huge admirer...Almost every novel makes one look at the world slightly differently. And like a lot of the top novelists now he is not afraid (like Ishiguro) of crossing a word that should be banned: "genre"....(yawn).
JK2006 Just read this early (1987) novel; very good with a brilliant last 40 pages. He was only just starting out; now he's a colossus.
