If it is a decent thick carpet that doesn't hold the dirt it should last even longer.
I am a rug hoarder. I have actually got giant shagpile rugs stored away, for a fantasy time in the future when my pets are less revolting. |

I fit in the second category. And sadly they no longer make the deep pile carpets I love which was why I just kept mine. |

Don't worry Honey nobody is allowed to use the Upstairs bathroom but me and I have VERY good aim. The downstairs toilet is so small nobody could miss the spot! |

Many hoarders hope that, when they die, the sum total of the things they leave - will suggest a broader life to that which they have had.
I decluttered recently (an enormous task, with hundreds of journeys to charity shops, and recycling depots) - and feel freer, lighter, brighter and less burdened.
As well as being able to quickly lay my hands on the things I need - instead of having to have several boring and time consuming rummaging/retrieval sessions every week.
