JK2006 Yes Mark you'll find both photos (real and manipulated) in my book 65 My Life So Far. It's frightening to think 75 My Life Even Further is due this December!
Mark stuart I remember seeing a documentry with jonathon being interviewed after his release from prison. (bbc 2 i think, cant remember who the presenter was). The bit that stood out, was you in a park, talking on a bench talking to the intetviewer, then a few days later in the sun or news of the world, they had a picture of you on the bench and the photo had been manipulated to make out that you were looking at ppassing children. Something along those lines anyway.

We thought you were eccentric but not dangerous like the press tried to portrait you as.

A description that could also apply to Jimmy Savile, I think.

If someone is eccentric or weird-looking they must surely be guilty of something.

My brother in law was at Leeds United games and Savile was nearly always seated near him.

He said Jimmy, looked more creepy, ugly and repulsive than anything else.

He mentioned that Savile would mumble to himself throughout the matches - or try to be centre of attention when no-one took notice of him.

What does "looking creepy" entail?

I met him when he was donating to a charity I was was working with.
It was a private visit, nobody knew about it, and he was perfectly nice, normal, interested, and pretty quiet.

It is actually on record that I was alone with him, so If I was a raving nutter it would be the simplest thing in the world for me to take a chunk of that money that was earmarked for saving children's lives.

The world is full of nutters, sadly.

Good question, ask him not me.

Like I said I have no idea if Jimmy was guilty or innocent, I've never met him and couldn't stand him in TV or radio.

However I always thought Pat Robertson was odd and was up something, even when he was a popular evangelist back in the day.

Did your brother-in-law say whether JS always parked his pink Rolls Royce in the place reserved for the St John's Ambulance?

I've read an awful lot about the life of Sir Jimmy Savile, and I've yet to encounter anything about his passion for football, never mind for Leeds United.

No he never saw his car but then again I bet he didn't bother to look. He's not a petrol-head (Then again he don't like football unless it's a free ticket). Now if you asked him about high end cocktails, champagne and fine wines then he will know.
My sister just didn't marry him for his hairy chest and open shirts.

JS was known to attend football games around Yorkshire but no doubt it was publicity or might got invited by the clubs for free.
