Barney Sadly, I think Venice will be gone first - the recent signs were ominous - with about 80% of the city under water.

The authorities had just curtailed the intrusion of cruise liners into Venice, where just 50,000 live. 36 million visit, annually.


I've been there a few times, always frequenting Harry's Bar for a Bellini. Also a bolt hole for Hemingway, Orson Wells and Charlie Chaplin.

Last time I was there - a few years ago - I noticed a famous red face. That of Michael Winner.
JK2006 No relation but incredibly clear and simple on climate change; he predicts Calcutta will be the first city to go totally under water followed by 2/3 of Bangladesh meaning 180 million people need to migrate very soon. And we're talking decades not centuries.
