Bookworm So much talk about gender pay gaps and sexism in the workplace has annoyed me for a while. Why? because there is another scandal in the wings which isn't addressed properly, but we know the phenomenon exists.
Ageism in the recruitment industry.
I am not aware of anyone (recently) being told they were denied a job because of age, but for any employer to do so would be admittance to causing offense and committing an offense. If this kind of refusal occurred in any other given situation such as skin colour or disability or LGBT...rights, there would be outrage.
So, the obvious question to ask is where are all of the human rights reps?
It is bad enough having to work until near 70 without an added disadvantage of a reduction in chances of employment should you need to find work later in life for some reason.

I know this is a music forum JK, and one day I will get around to posting some musical topics.
