JK2006 I've always thought planets get destroyed by fire before freezing as our sun slowly dies. The distant ones like Pluto and Jupiter and Saturn are blocks of ice or gases. Close ones like Mars and the Moon look exactly like the earth after fire has destroyed life. The next "Earth" will be Venus as it cools and harbours life. Then Mercury. Mind you we're talking billions of years here. Like a butterfly a human life is short.
