Barney Yes, theft.

But perpetrated by the site operators - such as Cotomovies.

Not by casual browsers?

Thanks Hedda - for the Cotomovies piece; I had no idea, and only came across it by accident.

However - with the simple use of a free VPN - there are several more such movie sites available.

Copying/cloning, by whatever technology, is now rife. Sites are springing up, all round.

Didn't similar methods virtually ruin the music industry?

Perhaps the internet is now so massive - it can't be police.

It's called theft. No different to walking into a store and taking something without paying.

Thanks - will watch soon.

Just downloaded it on a free app - called Cotomovies - as well as a few others, including Joker and The Irishman.

All work well - though obviously not nearly as enjoyable as going to the modern cinema.

Makes you wonder though about copyrights, streaming, downloading etc. It seems to be open season these days for free recent movie releases!

The rapidly changing world of social media...
Cotomovies.com :

"I want to express my sincere regret to the owners of the motion pictures Hellboy and Angel Has Fallen as well as all rights holders for inducing and contributing to copyright infringements by my operation of the app CotoMovies. From this stressful legal experience, I have learned to appreciate the damage apps such as CotoMovies do to those who invest their time, effort and money to create motion pictures. I now plan to fully respect intellectual property laws and strongly urge those who used my app to use legal apps to watch movies. To this end, I have agreed to transfer to counsel for the rights holders user data and communications under my possession and control so that they can enforce their valuable intellectual property."

Personally I don't bother with these "freebies" and actually enjoy going to the cinema for a couple of hours of escapism,

# I see JOKER has taken over a $1Billion on a budget of just $55Million which I think may even be a record. What a business..a company set up with a project that possibly takes 5 years to completion where the profits can be ginormous.

Pretty sure Joaquin Phoenix will pick up the Oscar probably because of the uniqueness of his role. They're already planning the next in a series,,can you imagine what fee Phoenix will be able to demand ?

Read so much criticism of The Irishman which I also loved especially all the performances in the lead roles.
Barney Early last year, the 1917 movie production began where a large portion of it was filmed.

In Surrey - at Hankley Common, near Farnham; an interesting landscape, with wide dimensions.

Skyfall - the last James Bond movie - was also set there, including the Scottish scenes towards the end.
