I predict BT will reign in all companies and then the Govenment will commission the log. Either way, it will end up in hands of government. They have to replace lost revenue and tech is one that will swell their coffers.
It makes no sense for companies like BT to make so much profit when government  can achieve it.

British Intelligence  have access to all cables in foreign lands I would think. Imagine what they could do with it. Damaging ones own infrastructure might be required to achieve maximum effect.[/quote]
