JK2006 1917 absolutely deserved to win though I thought Joker was the best film I saw all year. The Irishman had some wonderful acting in it and Tom Hanks deserved a Best Supporting gong (he may get the Oscar). I still haven't seen Parasite, Jojo Rabbit or Once. Or Judy, come to that. But I really hate this crusade for Politically Direct Discrimination. If there were better female directors (like the fantastic Capernaum which should have won Best Film and Best Director 2 years ago) there should be more nominated; this year there weren't (though I felt Little Women was terrific - she should have been nominated). Ditto black or brown or yellow - hey, we had a Korean nominated for Parasite. Give Awards for quality not gender or colour or religion or sex.
